Contraindications


The following patients should not use Beflam:

  • Known hypersensitivity to diclofenac or any of the drug's ingredients (such as anaphylactic responses and severe skin reactions).
  • History of taking aspirin or other NSAIDs and experiencing asthma, urticarial, or other allergic-like symptoms. NSAIDs have been linked to severe, occasionally fatal anaphylactic responses in these people.
  • When performing a coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) procedure.

Special precautions

  • After applying Beflam to the treated knee, refrain from taking a shower or bath for at least 30 minutes.
  • After use, wash and dry your hands.
  • Beflam should not be used on open wounds.
  • Keep Beflam away from your eyes and mucous membranes.
  • Do not dress treated knees with occlusive dressings or apply external heat.
  • Until the treated knee is dry, avoid wearing garments over the knee(s) that have received Beflam treatment.
  • Avoid exposure to both natural and artificial sunlight when using knee braces.
  • Before using sunscreen, insect repellent, lotion, moisturizer, cosmetics, or any other topical
  • Medication to the same knee you just treated with Beflam, wait until the treated area is dry.
  • Avoid skin-to-skin contact between other individuals and the treated knee(s) until they are very dry (s).

General dosing instruction

  • Utilize the shortest possible time and lowest effective dosage in accordance with each patient's unique treatment objectives.
  • The suggested dose of 40 mg of diclofenac sodium (2 pump actuations) on each affected knee, twice daily, is for the alleviation of osteoarthritis (OA) pain.
  • Use Beflam on dry, clean skin.
  • Before use, the pump must be primed. Patients should be told to hold the bottle upright and fully depress the pump mechanism (actuation) 4 times. In order to assure appropriate priming of the pump, this component should be eliminated. The bottle should not need to be primed once again.
  • After priming, Beflam is appropriately dispensed by squeezing the pump all the way down twice to deliver the recommended dosage for one knee. Apply the product uniformly around the front, back, and sides of the knee after dispensing it onto the palm of the hand.
  • Beflam application in amounts above or below the advised dose has not been researched and is therefore not advised.

Oral administration


For children


20 milligrams per kilogram of body weight divided into two dosages each day. The total daily dose for children under 30 kg should not exceed 500 mg. Beflam should be administered with food or milk if gastrointestinal issues are experienced.

1-2 years: a half-teaspoon (2.5 ml) 3–4 times each day;


3 to 7 years: one teaspoon (5 ml) daily; 3–4 times; 8–12 years: 2 teaspoonteaspoonfuls 3–4 times every day. Children under the age of one year should not take Beflam.


For adult


The dose range for arthritic pain is 0.9 to 2.4 g per day. The typical dosage is 400 mg, taken 3–4 times daily, ideally after food. Depending on the severity of the symptoms at the time of starting medication therapy or as patients don't respond, the dose may be increased to a maximum of 2.4 g per day. The patient's dose should be monitored, modified as necessary, and decreased gradually after a positive response has been obtained.
