Piriton Syrup

  • Adults, teenagers, and kids 12 years old and older: When symptoms occur, take two five ml spoonfuls (10 ml) of Piriton syrup every four to six hours. Take no more than six 10ml doses in a 24-hour period. Elderly adults should refrain from taking more than three 10ml doses in a 24-hour period, as they may be more vulnerable to chlorphenamine's potential side effects.
  • From six to 12 years old: When symptoms occur, use one 5ml spoonful of Piriton syrup every four to six hours. Give no more than six five ml doses in a 24-hour period.
  • Children aged 2 to 6 years: Give 2.5ml (the small end of a medicine spoon) of Piriton syrup to children aged 2 to 6 as needed to treat symptoms every four to six hours. Give no more than six 2.5ml doses in a 24-hour period.
  • Children aged 1 to 5 years: Give 2.5ml (the tiny end of a medicine spoon) of Piriton syrup twice daily to children aged one to two years old as needed to treat symptoms, at least four hours in between doses. Give no more than two 2.5ml doses in a 24-hour period.
