- Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic medicine.
- It's mainly used to treat eye infections (such as conjunctivitis) and sometimes ear infections.
Directions For Use
- Tilt the head back and pressing your finger gently on the skin just beneath the lower eyelid, pull the lower eyelid away from the eye to make a space.
- Drop the medicine into this space.
- Let go of the eyelid and gently close the eyes.
- Do not blink.
Warnings
- This product is not recommended for use during pregnancy and lactation.
Precautions
- Blurring of vision can occur with the ointment and patients should be warned not to drive or operate machinery unless their vision is clear.
- Transient burning or stinging sensations may occur with the use of ophthalmic chloramphenicol.
