Chloramphenicol eye oint 5 gm

  • Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic medicine.
  • It's mainly used to treat eye infections (such as conjunctivitis) and sometimes ear infections.


Directions For Use

  • Tilt the head back and pressing your finger gently on the skin just beneath the lower eyelid, pull the lower eyelid away from the eye to make a space.
  • Drop the medicine into this space.
  • Let go of the eyelid and gently close the eyes.
  • Do not blink.


Warnings

  • This product is not recommended for use during pregnancy and lactation.


Precautions

  • Blurring of vision can occur with the ointment and patients should be warned not to drive or operate machinery unless their vision is clear.
  • Transient burning or stinging sensations may occur with the use of ophthalmic chloramphenicol.
