Description
Hydroquinone is a skin-lightening agent. It bleaches the skin, which can be helpful when treating different forms of hyperpigmentation. Hydroquinone is used to lighten the dark patches of skin (also called hyperpigmentation, melasma, "liver spots," "age spots," freckles) caused by pregnancy, birth control pills, hormone medicine, or injury to the skin. This medicine works by blocking the process in the skin that leads to discoloration
Directions For Use
This medication is for use on the skin only.
The ointment is used affected areas of the skin.
Warnings
Hydroquinone can be only be used in pregnancy when clearly needed. Consult your doctor before using this medicine.
Precautions
Patients who are allergic to hydroquinone or any of its components should consult the doctor before taking it. If taking any vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products are taken then consult the doctor before using hydroquinone. If any sort of swelling is experienced, consult your doctor immediately. Using hydroquinone ointments, especially in high doses, might result in skin burn.
