Tenofovir Disoproxil is used in combination with other anti-retrovirals to treat HIV infection. 

Description

Tenofovir is indicated in combination with other antiretroviral agents for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in adults and pediatric patients 2 years of age and older. This indication is based on analyses of plasma HIV-1 RNA levels and CD4 cell counts in controlled studies of tenofovir in treatment-naive and treatment-experienced adults. Tenofovir is indicated for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B in adults and pediatric patients 12 years of age and older

Directions For Use

One tablet daily or as recommended by doctor.

Warnings

Please consult your doctor before using this medicine during pregnancy. 

Consult your physician before using this medicine while lactating.  

Precautions

Please be cautious while using this medicine in patients with kidney and liver impairment, hyperphosphatemia (elevated levels of phosphate in the blood), and obesity. Monitor for signs and symptoms of lactic acidosis; discontinue therapy if occurs. Monitor children exposed in utero for signs of mitochondrial dysfunction.
