How to use

Before starting to take desloratadine and each time you get a refill, read the patient information guide if it is available from your pharmacist see your doctor straight away if you have any of the following negative effects:

  • Take this medication by mouth once daily, generally with or without a meal, as prescribed by your doctor.
  • Let the rapidly dissolving tablet dissolve on the tongue before swallowing it, with or without water, if you're using one.

Adults and children 12 years of age and older should take 2 teaspoonfuls (5 milligrams [mg] in 10 milliliters [ml]) once a day to treat the symptoms of persistent hives.
