At InstaCare, we send trained nurses to your door for planned, non-emergency care. This guide covers when it makes sense to hire one, what our nurses can and can't do, where we work, what it costs and how to book.
What home nursing actually means
A home nurse visits the patient at home and carries out the care your doctor has advised. That might be cleaning a wound, giving an injection, checking blood pressure or simply keeping an eye on a patient who is recovering. A nurse doesn't replace your doctor. The doctor decides the treatment. The nurse makes sure it happens correctly, on time, in the comfort of your own home.
When should you hire a nurse at home?
There's no fixed rule, but these are the situations where families find it most useful.
- After surgery or a hospital stay. The first few days at home are often the hardest. There are wounds to look after, medicines to give on time and a patient who still needs watching. A nurse helps you get through that stretch without constant trips back to the hospital.
- When your doctor has prescribed injections or IV medication. Taking a patient to a clinic or hospital every day for a drip or injection is tiring, especially for someone who is weak or in pain. A nurse can give prescribed injections and IV medication at home.
- When an elderly or bedridden family member needs regular care. Looking after someone who can't move easily is physically and emotionally exhausting. A trained nurse brings skill, and gives the family a break.
- When a patient has paralysis. These patients need careful, regular care from someone who knows how to handle them. A nurse can support you in line with the doctor's advice.
- When someone needs regular checks. Some patients need their blood pressure, blood sugar, temperature or oxygen level checked at set times. A nurse can take the readings and note them down so you have something clear to show the doctor.
- When the family is simply worn out. This is a real reason, and a good one. If everyone is tired and stretched thin, bringing in professional help is often the best thing you can do for the patient.
Not sure whether you need a nurse? Ask your treating doctor. They know the patient's condition and can tell you how much support is needed.
What InstaCare's home nurses can do
Here's what our nurses help with at home.
- Dressing changes and wound care. The nurse cleans the wound, changes the dressing and watches for signs that it isn't healing well, like increasing redness, swelling or discharge, so you can tell your doctor early.
- Stitches removal. When your doctor says the stitches are ready to come out, a nurse can do it at home. No clinic queue, no travel.
- Injections. Our nurses give injections at home when a doctor has prescribed them.
- IV medication. IV drips and IV medication can also be given at home, again only when prescribed.
- Patient monitoring. Regular checks of blood pressure, blood sugar, temperature and oxygen level, with the readings noted for you and your doctor.
- Recovery support after surgery or discharge. A nurse helps the patient settle in, follow the care plan and recover safely.
- Care for elderly and bedridden patients. Day-to-day care and attention that keeps the patient comfortable.
- Paralysis patient care. Careful, regular support in line with the doctor's guidance.
One rule we don't bend
Our nurses give medicines and injections only after seeing a doctor's prescription. They don't decide treatment on their own, and they don't change doses. If you're not sure whether something needs a prescription, the answer is yes, so keep the doctor's prescription or discharge papers ready when the nurse arrives.

Timings
Our home nursing service runs from 10 AM to 10 PM.
If you need care outside these hours, call our helpline and our team will tell you what can be arranged. It's much better to ask first than to assume.
How much does a nurse at home cost?
Prices start from PKR 2,500, and the final amount depends on the service you need. That's because a quick dressing change is very different from monitoring a patient for a longer period or giving an IV drip. We'll tell you the exact price for your situation before the nurse comes, so there are no surprises later.
How to book a nurse at home
It takes only a few minutes.
- Call or WhatsApp us on 0317 1777509 (chat on WhatsApp), or use the booking button on our page.
- Tell us what care is needed. For example: "dressing change for a surgical wound" or "daily injection prescribed by the doctor."
- Share the patient's age and condition, and your area and address in Lahore.
- Send the doctor's prescription if medicines or injections are involved. A photo on WhatsApp is fine.
- We confirm the price and the time, and the nurse comes to you.
What to have ready
A few things make the booking quicker:
- Patient's name, age and main health problem
- What care is needed
- The doctor's prescription or discharge notes
- Your full address and area
- A phone number for someone in the family
When a home nurse is not the answer
Home nursing is for planned, non-emergency care. It is not for emergencies. If the patient has severe chest pain, trouble breathing, heavy bleeding, sudden weakness, confusion or has passed out, don't wait for a nurse or a home visit. Go to the nearest hospital emergency department or call 1122 right away.
