Precautions
In some medical conditions this medication is not good to take or your doctor or pharmacist strictly not allowed you to take medications if you are suffering from any of the following medical conditions or diseases.
- Never take this medicine in pregnancy it can cause some complications to unborn baby
- Never take this medicine if you are suffering from any skin allergic reactions
- Never take this medicine for long time because it lowers the number of platelets in your body
- Never take this medicine if you are suffering from diarrhea
- Never take this medicine if you are hypoglycemic
- Never take this medicine if you are hyperkalemia and hyponatremia patients.
- Never take this medicine if you are already taking anti-convulsant treatment.

Dosing
For adults
Bacterial infections
- 1 tablet of 800mg of sulfamethoxazole and 160gm of trimethoprim
- 2 tablets of 400mg of sulfamethoxazole & 80mg of trimethoprim
- 4teaspoon of liquid suspension in every 12 hours for 10-14 days
Bronchitis
- 1 tablet of 960mg
- 2 tablets of 480mg
- 4 tsp of suspension in every 12hrs for 14 days
Pneumonia
Dose is adjusted according to weight the usual dose is 75-100mg per kg of sulfamethoxazole and 15-20mg per kg of trimethoprim and dose is given every 6hrs for 14-21 days

4 tablets 4 times a day for 14-21 days

3 tablets 4 times a day for 14-21 days

Children dose is adjusted according to weight of children, usual dose is 40mg per kg of children weight given in every 12 hours for ten days.

3 tsp or 1 ½ tablet 2 times a day for 10 days
20kg child
2 tsp or 1 tablet 2 times a day for 10 days
10kg child
1 tsp of liquid suspension for 2 times a day for 10 days.
Children younger than 2 months are not allowed to take this medication
