Fostair inhalers contain beclometasone combined with formoterol. Formoterol is a type of medicine called a bronchodilator and is similar to salbutamol. Bronchodilators (also known as "relievers") work by relaxing the muscles of the airways into the lungs. This makes it easier to breathe.
Description
Fostair NEXThaler is used to treat asthma in adults. If you are prescribed Fostair NEXThaler it is likely that either: Your asthma is not adequately controlled by using inhaled corticosteroids and “as needed” short-acting bronchodilators
Directions For Use
The usual dose is one inhalation in the morning and one inhalation in the evening. You should also use Fostair NEXThaler as a “reliever” inhaler to treat sudden asthma symptoms. If you get asthma symptoms, take one inhalation and wait a few minutes. If you do not feel better, take another inhalation.
Warnings
Fostair should be kept in the fridge before use.
Precautions
Fostair NEXThaler should be administered with caution in patients with active or quiescent pulmonary tuberculosis, fungal and viral infections in the airways.
