Description

Terlipressin is indicated in the treatment of bleeding oesophageal varices. The administration of terlipressin serves the emergency care for acute bleeding oesophageal varices until endoscopic therapy is available.

Directions For Use

Terlipressin Acetate 1 mg solution for injection is injected intravenously and should be given during the period of one minute. Terlipressin Acetate 1 mg solution for injection should only be used with caution in patients with chronic renal failure

Warnings

The use of terlipressin is not recommended during pregnancy as it has been shown to cause uterine contractions and increased intrauterine pressure in early pregnancy and may decrease uterine blood flow.
