• Ultravist is a prescription medicine used as a contrast agent in intravenous procedures such as angiography, arteriography, ventriculography, aortography, venography, urography, and computed tomography (CT).
• Ultravist may be used alone or with other medications.
• Ultravist belongs to a class of drugs called Iodinated contrast media.
• It is not known if ultravist is safe and effective in children younger than 2 years of age.

Warnings

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding or are planning a pregnancy consult your doctor before receiving this medication.

Precautions

• Life-threatening or fatal, anaphylactoid reactions may occur during or after ultravist administration.
• Acute kidney injury, including renal failure may occur after intravascular administration of ultravist.
• Contrast agents may promote sickling in individuals who are homozygous for sickle cell disease when administered intravascularly.
