Highlights

• Velosef 2500mg capsule is used to treat bacterial infections such as urinary tract infections, chest infections, skin infections, ear infections, throat infections, sinusitis and upper respiratory tract infections.

Directions For Use

• You may take cephradine with or without food. Taking the medicine with food or milk may ease side effects on your stomach.
• The dosage strength of velosef depends on the severity and type of infection.In case of respiratory tract infections and skin infections 500mg to be taken twice a day.
• For lobar pneumonia the dosage of velosef to be taken is 500mg four times a day.
• In uncomplicated urinary tract infections the recommended dosage of velosef is 500mg twice a day.However in serious urinary tract infections that also cause prostatitis the dosage administered is 500mg four times a day

Warnings

• Please consult your doctor when taking this medicine if you are pregnant.
• This medication passes into breast milk.Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Precautions

• If you have ever had an allergic reaction to a medicine.It is particularly important that you tell your doctor if you have had a bad reaction to a penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotic.
• Continue to take this medication until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days.Stopping the medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow, which may result in a return of the infection.
• Before using this medication tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history especially of kidney disease, stomach/intestinal disease (such as colitis).
