Highlights

It is used to treat erosive esophagitis (damage to the esophagus from stomach acid caused by gastroesophageal reflux disease, or GERD) in adults and children.

Directions For Use

Take tablets with or without meals. Do not chew or crush the tablet, swallow whole.

Warnings

This medicine is most likely safe to use in pregnant females.

It is contraindicated in lactating females.

Precautions

Exclude malignancy before and during the treatment. Monitor liver enzyme, discontinue if elevated. There is a possible risk of increased GI infection. In long-term therapy, there is an increased risk of hypomagnesemia (low magnesium levels), reduced vitamin B12 absorption and fractures.
