What is the Legs Doppler Venous?
The venous Doppler
ultrasound is very important in medical field as it is a diagnostic test that
is used to detect the circulation in the large veins of the legs. In this
examination, any blockage of the veins in the form of blood clots, or “thrombus”
formation can be detected. Especially those veins that return blood back
towards the heart. There are two main types of these veins.
- Deep veins that are underneath the leg muscles.
- Superficial veins that are right underneath the surface of
the skin.
Their location is what differentiates the two. These
veins located in the leg region deflate easily. The main reason is gravity and

A water gel will be used and then a transducer will be used for examination. This device will direct high-frequency sound waves to the artery or veins being tested. You might also get BP cuffs at certain parts of your body.

Either your test results are normal or abnormal.
If the test results are normal then it means that there were
no signs of narrowing of blood vessels, clots, or closure. And normal results
show that the arteries have normal blood flow.

- Narrowing or widening of an artery
