There are no major risks in wearing the Holter monitor. For
a few people, it can be uncomfortable for a few people because it can cause a minor
discomfort or skin irritation where the sensors were placed. Other electrical
appliances cannot affect this Holter monitor. But it is possible for some
devices may interrupt the signal from the electrodes to the Holter monitor.
You have to avoid the use of the following devices if you have any:
- Electric blankets
- Electric razors and toothbrushes
- Magnets
- Metal detectors
- Microwave ovens
- You also have to keep cellphones and portable music players
at least 6 inches from the Holter monitor for the same reason.
When should I know the results of this Test?
You will get the results of this test in a few hours. But most probably, it takes a day for a formal report to get concluded. The time when you will receive your test results will depend on the place from where you will get your tests done. These days, with advanced technology, you can receive your test results on your phone.
