pg/mL (118 pmol/L). At this stage people start to develop deficiency symptoms.
- With less than 100 pg/mL (74 pmol/L) vitamin B12, older
adults start to get symptoms of deficiency. The deficiency is checked by
looking for a substance in blood known as methylmalonic acid. If its levels are
high then it will indicate b12 deficiency.
